Since the members of the judiciary who undertake the task of dispensing justice perform their duties in different disguises and embellishments creates public distrust towards the Court-house, arrangements have been made in the clothing of the members of the judiciary in order to reinforce the state authority and power of representation and to direct the perception of the judicial power among the public. Members of the judiciary, who had to pay attention to their clothing in order not to damage their dignity, took care of their clothing in the Early Republic Period as well as in the Ottoman Period. Kemali style serpushes, tightly buttoned vests, hamails and riding style wide-sleeved robes were worn to determine class and status. An attempt was made to achieve a striking appearance. The problems encountered during the use of simple and one-piece robes, which have been shaped by regulations since the proclamation of the Republic, which has an important place in the history of law, have been discussed, and the technical features of judicial robes worn in developed countries and the Judicial robes of the Republic of Turkey have been compared and a contemporary and modern version in ac-ordance with international standards has been discussed. The value and importance that the designer robe adds to the judiciary is emphasized.

Adalet dağıtımında görev üstlenen yargı mensubunun farklı kisve ve serpuşlarla görevlerini ifa etmeleri halkta Adliye’ye karşı güvensizlik oluşturduğundan devlet otoritesini ve temsil gücünü pekiştirmek, yargı erkinin halk katındaki algılanışına yön vermek amacıyla yargı mensuplarının giysilerinde düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Saygınlıklarının zedelenmemesi için giyim kuşamına özen göstermek durumunda olan yargı mensubu Osmanlı Dönemi’nde olduğu gibi Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde de giyimlerine özen göstermişlerdir. Sınıf ve statü belirlemek amacı ile giyilen Kemali tarzdaki serpuşlar, sık düğmeli yelekler, hamailler ve biniş tarzdaki geniş yenli cübbeler ile dikkat çekici bir görünüme ulaşmaya çalışılmıştır. Hukuk tarihi açısından önemli bir yere sahip olan Cumhuriyet’in ilanından günümüze yönetmeliklerle şekil alan sade ve tek parçadan oluşan cübbelerin kullanımı esnasında yaşanan sorunlar ele alınmış, gelişmiş ülkelerde giyilmekte olan yargı cübbeleri ile Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Yargı cübbelerinin teknik özellikleri karşılaştırılarak uluslararası standarta uygun çağdaş ve modern bir tasarım cübbenin yargıya kattığı değer ve önemi vurgulanmıştır.
